Y2 Reading & Writing Moderation & Assessment (1): Expected Standard

1st of 3 sessions, supporting Year 2 Teachers in understanding and applying Statutory Teacher Assessment Framework for reading and writing.

This is the first session of a three-part course which aims to support Year 2 teachers to develop their understanding and application of the statutory Teacher Assessment Framework for Reading and Writing through termly opportunities to meet and moderate with Year 2 colleagues. Teachers may attend all three sessions, or select individual sessions from the course. Each session must be booked individually. The price is £80 per session.

Session 1: Understanding the expectations and requirements

This half day training course is designed to support year 2 teachers early in the year to gain a secure understanding of the expectations at the end of KS1 to support making robust judgements in both reading and writing.

This course will:

  • give up-to-date information regarding the 2020 Standards and Testing Agency statutory guidance and expectations relating to the end of Key Stage 1 testing and teacher assessment arrangements for English reading and writing

  • give a professional development opportunity to review reading and writing in year 2, with a focus on reaching the expected standard
