Creating writers in years 3 and 4: Securing Foundations in KS2 (2 sessions)

Please note, this training is run in partnership with education charity Quest for Learning.

This is a two part course, taking place on 2nd December 2019 and 20th January 2020. The price of £160 is for both sessions.

Securing strong foundations in lower KS2 is essential to preparing children for the end of KS2. This CPD session will explore a variety of approaches to take back to the classroom to enhance the teaching of writing in years 3 and 4 .

Suitable for: Teachers in years 3 and 4, English subject leaders.

This course will:

  • secure an understanding of expectations in writing within this phase

  • explore the links between reading and writing and the use of high quality texts to promote and engage learners

  • develop an understanding of the writing process and how this can be utilised to support children in writing for a range of purposes and audiences

  • give practical ideas and activities of how to develop both the compositional and technical aspects of writing.
