Getting to know the revised EYFS: mathematical focus Reception Teachers

This interactive workshop will explore key aspects of the new Early Years framework for mathematics whilst making connections with the latest research that has been used to inform its development. in addition, strategies that will best equip children to attain the Early Learning goals by the end of Reception will be provided.

By the end of the training participants will acquire ideas about focused diagnostic assessments/direct teaching excercises that are linked with both number and shape/space. these will involve a range of resources being utilised and offer different points of inclusive access to learning for children associated with established trajectories, which will inturn provide secure foundations for their later transistion into Key Stage 1.

Guidance for working alongside parents to best support children will also be given.
