  • The Aureus School Building Candytuft Way Didcot, England, OX11 6FF United Kingdom (map)

Delegates attending this CPD will explore a variety of approaches and strategies to take back to the classroom to enhance the teaching of phonics.  We will explore both the teaching of discrete phonics and how we support children in applying skills in reading and writing.

Suitable for teachers and teaching assistants new to phonics/looking for a refresher course in EYFS/KS1/KS2.

This course will:

  • support practitioners in developing a secure subject knowledge in phonics

  • develop an understanding of progression in phonics, with a focus on the Letters and Sounds programme exemplified with practical activities and ideas

  • consider a range of strategies to support the application of skills in reading and writing.
